ambercrystal:hi, my partner and i , need some sort of insurance, do we need to insure each other,so that when one of us dies, the other one will be provided for. how do i go about it? thanks
You should make sure you both have wills drawn up first.
In regard to your current financial commitments, if you have a mortgage, did you take out any life assurance? For a repayment mortgage I think this is call decreasing term assurance. You should check what you currently have and then perhaps think about whether it is worth seeing a local Independent Financial Advisor. You can find using http://www.unbiased.co.uk/find-an-independent-financial-adviser/
As an IFA can charge a reasonably large fee, you would be wise to read up as much as possible, to see what products could be of benefit to you. If your requirements are relatively straightforward, you can arrange most cover online very competitively. The moneysavingexpert sites guide, have some good tips on value for money providers.
