You will need to use the option on MID as if you have had an accident with yourself which costs £3.50 but will give you the name of your Insurer and the policy number.

When you do contact your Insurer let them know you did an MID check as it is normally notified to them so they think you have had a claim if you don't let them know

    Hi

You might be able to get this information here: http://www.askmid.com/ - I think it shows insurance details for all cars by number plate

    Missing documents?

So here's the probem... Back in April of this year i renewed my car insurance with a company I found on this site, paid in full when taking out the policy, all is well so far. My road tax expired at the end of september, and I also need to update the address on my V5, so off i pop to the DVLA local office to get everything done - this is where the fun starts - I've lost the insurance certificate. "Call the company and ask them to send you another" I hear you say, sadly not that simple... every piece of paperwork from them is in one envelope, and I cant find it, so I've no idea which company I'm actually insured with. Any suggestions as to how I can find out? Paid for it by card, but closed the account a couple of months ago, so no joy in trying the card provider, and cant retrieve the quote on here as its expired.
