We have great big "mushrooms" or toadstools growing on some old tree stumps in our garden

I realise that they are just natures way of disposing of old wood - but they are spreading across the lawn

Is there some SAFE way to get rid of them ?

We have cats - so want to avoid chemicals - I have physically removed them on several occasions - but they must have spored and keep on reappearing overnight.....
