They probably waived the charges because of your good behaviour record, but if you do it again they wont be so understanding.

Really glad you got the outcome you wanted. see - its good to talk :D

Hi, I know that this was a once off, and trust me this will not happen again, The £10 a month option sounds good, i will definately consider. Thanks.

Oh My, I have just had the most amazing response,

It's good that on this occasion Lloyds have waived the totally "unfair" charges but next time they may not be so reasonable.

A few thoughts now that you have a clean sheet. If you think you can avoid being permanently in overdraft ask for an agreed overdraft. If going over is likely to happen frequently consider their Control option. You pay £10/month but lower charges, though the downside is you pay £10/month for the privelage of having your direct debits refused.

Alternatively, RBS/Natwest have jumped the gun on lower charges which they believe are closer to being consider "fair". Also consider whether a managed account service such as Think Banking would help you.

Oh My, I have just had the most amazing response, I called Lloyds, and the people who answered were the customer support unit and they couldn't help, so held on the line for the lending department AGAIN, and got through to a lovely lady, explained my situation, and she cancelled all charges pending for this month and cancelled any that we pending ear marked payments, completely wiped it clean. Amazing.

    Thanks for all your help.

ask to be put through to the customer support unit, explain the situation and then ask for their help - it worked for me ;) x

    Re: Unplanned Overdraft Charges.

    Hi, Thanks for your reply,

    1) No i never because i didn't realise until 3 days later and i could only put money in two weeks later as that's when i received my husbands first pay check.

    2) I have tried calling them today, spoke to someone who said she needs to refer me to the lending department which lines were engaged and she sent them an e-mail asking them to call me. I'm still waiting for their call as i cannot call till 1pm, which i will do.

    Thanks again.

1 The golden rule is keep your bank informed ahead of any unplanned acts. I take it you didn't.

2 Contact your bank asap and explain the situation and ask for their advice/help as to how you can get out of the vicious spiral you now find yourself in. I take it you haven't done this yet.

    Unplanned Overdraft Charges.

Hi there, I have a question regarding overdraft charges.

I don't have an overdraft however i went over the amount of funds that were in my account, so Lloyds then charged me £131.00 for this and it was taken out at the beginning of the month and due to my bills and my husbands bills (he's only just started working again so i was left to pay his aswell) all of my monthly salary was used up. Now they are charging me £180.00 this month as their charge of £131.00 had again taken me over my amount of cleared funds and again i've had to shell out for both of our bills so now it's going to happen again where their charges are again taking me over and then next months charge is going to be more.

Is ther anything that i can do because i don't know what i can do.

Help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
