Does anyone know whether the R1 tariff which is the one I will automatically be moved onto on 1 October locks me in till 2011? (If it does, I'll need to move temporarily over to another deal with eon whilst I do a comparison with other suppliers.)

No idea. Best deal with this by moving to a variable tariff whatever the answer. Keeps Eon honest and maximises your choice.

All customers currently on a Price Protection or Energy Saver tariff that ends on the 1^st October 2009 are automatically put on to either the R1, R2 or R3 tariff. None of these tariffs have any cancellation fees. So if you go on to R1 and then want to change tariff or supplier you won’t be locked in with a termination fee.
