    Hi

As a claim is already being made, any personal injury amount agreed will just be added. So as the claim will already have an affect on the premium, any additional amount paid will not make any difference.

Will a third party personal injury claim affect my insurance premium?

My sister in law was involved in an accident last year on the motorway whilst travellling in the third lane. She hit a spare tyre which had fallen off a lorry and her car spun and overturned - it was a write off and the police were called and insurance company notified.

As there was no proof of the third party as my the driver was not at fault (i.e she was not doing over the speed lim it) it has gone to the motor insurance bureau.

The person who was travelling in the car with her now wants to put in a personal injury claim. Will this affect my sister-in-laws insurance premiums?
