My ban from driving will be lifted from December 29th of this year. I was thinking wether if I can do all that need sorting before it. I am sure that I can get the car insured maybe first or second week of december. But how can I have the car MOT so I can then apply for the Road Tax. Do I need to insure one of my mates as other driver in my insurance so he can drive the car for MOT? Or would it be alright for him to drive it to a garage for just one day even if he's not included in my car's insurance? What is best to do? Thanks very much.

You could try your local MOT station to see if they would do a collection for the MOT.

There are some that do this. I did a quick google and found one.

Most of the other results were for scrap car collection and MOT failures.

If your car is already insured and your friend is also insured under another (their own) policy then they may be able to drive your car under Third Party cover. You could speak to your insurance about this.

The basics are that the car must be insured and the driver must be insured either on the same or separate insurances.
