    Re: Car Insurance for Non-Residents

Try speaking to a local broker, there are plenty of Insurers that do not load or only apply a small load for people who are non resident / only just arrived in the UK.

I generally place this kind of business with Aviva (Their direct side often has different underwriting to brokers so try both channels)

Bermuda is a commonwealth country so its should make it even easier

    rbedford:

According to dayinsure under their short term car Insurance, they can provide cover for a non-uk resident. The cover is 1-28 days at a time, but I believe you can take out cover again if your UK stay is more than 28 days.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of annual Car Insurance for non UK residents.

You could contact BIBA who are like the yellow pages of the Insurance industry to see if they are aware of alternatives. There may be a broker who can negotiate a policy for you. http://www.biba.org.uk/ConsumerHome.aspx

    Car Insurance for Non-Residents

I am UK citizen who has been living abroad in Bermuda for the past 11 years. I have a full UK licence and no insurance claims prior to moving abroad and have 9 years no claims since being in Bermuda. Now have a house and a car in the UK for use when travelling here and finding it incredibly difficult to get car insurance as a non-resident. Any help would be greartly appreciated!
