Totally agree, ones private and confidential personal details should not be passed to any other organisation, without the crystal clear express consent and knowledge of that person concerned.

Is this the post you referred to huckster.?

Yes it was. I think the Moneysupermarket guys need to look at the loans process, as people are getting passed to UCC, and they are clearly not happy with this. If MS use UCC to assess applications on behalf of various companies, it needs to made clear, what service UCC are providing.

As I understand it, it was not A & L that involved UCC, it was Moneysupermarket. Someone recently raised a complaint about this, when applying for another companies loan. A reply was given by Moneysupermarket, that UCC will look for another loan, if the one applied for is not available.

So if you want to complain, you may wish to contact Moneysupermarket about this and not A&L.

Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company

Today I applied online via this website for a loan of £12,000 with Alliance & Leicester to consolidate two credit cards. I received a call from a company called UCC advising that the application with A&L had been declined and they would attempt to find me an alternative. After going through all the details I had already put on the online application with someone I could barely understand, I was transferred to someone else who advised that a loan wasn't an option for me but wanted me to take out a debt management solution with a company called Smooth Financial Services who I have never heard of. How dare A&L pass my details onto another company without my permission, can they do that? I have a very good credit rating and surely taking out a debt management solution would damage my credit rating!!! This is certainly not a route that I want to go down.
