My understanding is that, the only people that can remove the default are the company that placed it on your record.

You should write a strongly worded letter to the company concerned, advising that you are considering taking legal action action against them.

    Default disputed

    Hi Team,

I have contacted experian to dispute a default on my credit file on the 04/08/2009 and a notice of dispute was registered on my file pending investigation. but the 28 days limit already expire and still hear nothing from them or the company who registered the default. can you please advise where I stand now? shouldn't they remove the default as they cannot prove its accuracy?
