Background info:
AA Insurance: Main driver + Additional driver. Main driver had 7 years no claims before and paid extra to protect it. Additional driver causes an accident and a claim is made on main driver's policy. Main driver's no claims stays at 7 years. Fault is NOT the main driver.
I've asked around alot and I still don't have a clear answer with different people/companies telling me different things.
If the main driver decided to buy individual insurance (without the additional driver), is the main driver at fault or not for the additional drivers mistake? Say on a form, it says claims made - a claim was made but it wasn't the main drivers fault O the third partys - so how is this to be told/said. Does he have to put tell the insurance about the addional driver?
If the main driver decided to buy insurance and have the same additional driver, then the application form is much more clear in that no claims/accident was under the main driver, but under the addtional driver's history, a claim or accident was made and blame is upon the additional driver rather than the main.
Hope I haven't confused anyone.
