    Thanks for reply Huckster.

I think you're right - I need to give them a call and see how they look at it. I'll post up any info I receive as I'm sure many people are in a similar situation with vehicle insurance.

    Many thanks.

Re: NCD - Do multiple policies affect each other?

    Lerxst:

If my son had an accident (as a named driver) in my car would this affect my van insurance premium/NCD too? Are all policies 'linked' or would this only affect the car policy (NCD is protected for van policy but not for car one currently)(son not on van policy).

    Thanks.

I must admit I am not sure on this but I do believe your van Insurers would require the claims details, when the policy was next due for renewal.

It would be interesting if you phoned the van insurers just to ask the question, as to whether any claim under the private car policy, would affect the van policy premium.

If you do get an answer, can you please post back.

    Thanks

NCD - Do multiple policies affect each other?

    Hi

If my son had an accident that was his fault (as a named driver) in my car would this then affect my van insurance premium/NCD too? Are all policies 'linked' in terms of perceived risk of main policy holder or would this only affect the car policy and the people insured under it? (NCD is protected for van policy but not for car policy currently)(son not on van policy).

    Thanks.
