The co-op bank issued me one. They weren't too keen but it saves me a fortune when booking flights on Ryanair. Hope this helps .

If you don't want a bank account you can get an Electron/Visa/Mastercard as a carrier on a pre-paid card or a Think Banking account.

Entirely depends what you need it for. If it's for the cheap Ryanair flights you might just want a pre-paid!

Lloyds also offer one, but you will be charged for using non Lloyds branded ATMs.

I think Lloyds now provide a Visa Debit with their basic Cashpoint account. No charge for using non-Lloyds ATMs - just doesn't work!

However Halifax/Bank of Scotland provide Visa Electron with their basic Easycash account which works at no charge in Link ATMs.

You need a bank account that will issue an electron card.

I have one from Abbey, and I believe they are available from most banks.

Try asking your bank. You may have to open a new simple bank account.

Lloyds also offer one, but you will be charged for using non Lloyds branded ATMs.

    Sparky.
