    Re: Virgin credit card 0%

    George_brosnan:

I would reiterate CMK's point, set up a DD for the minimum amount and if you have any spare money at the end of the month throw it at your card and get it paid off quicker.

Totally agree about the DD (as long as there are funds in your account when it is collected).

But since this is a 0% thread, the second comment would be daft during the 0% period. Most financial advisors would recommend using a surplus to build up an emergency fund of several months income.

    Re: Virgin credit card 0%

There is not a lot you can do, the matter is entirely at their discretion.

Once you make a late payment the decision to rescind your promotional rate offer has always been a option that is available to them. You are lucky in some respects, that they have at least decided to reinstate the offer. !

Advise that you set up a DD with your card issuer to cover at least the min payment due on the CC, so it always arrives before the payment due date on your CC account, this should prevent you overlooking or making a future late payment...hence avoiding any future charges.

    Virgin credit card 0%

I have just checked my bill online and noticed that for the past 2 months I have been charged interest.

I contacted Virgin and they tell me I was 2 days late with a payment in May and that they withdrew the 0% rate and it was my own fault not contacting them earlier.

They say they will now reinstate the 0% rate but will not reimburse any interest payments, though they acknowledge I have made the further payments in plenty of time.

Does anyone know of a way to resolve this (there is £1400 outstanding at the moment) or has anyone had a similar problem.

    thanks

    Tony
