I was told that they need to make some additional checks, any ideas what these could be?

Just guessing, but I imagine they will cross-reference the paper ID with your credit file at one or more CRA.

Is that likely to be a problem?

    Additional checks?

    Hi there,
I am 18 years old, and I have an account at the moment with HSBC, but after being withdrawn very slightly and facing an astronomical charge of £25.00 I have decided to change my bank to Natwest. Basically they are offering a better account. I phoned up to apply for an account and the guy said to me that he needs to take some details and then he can tell me what they will offer me. So basically I gave him my details and he told me that I'm eligible for all of their currents accounts, except the one where you need an income of like £75K.

Then anyway I accepted the advantage blue account and they told me to take i.d into the branch, they photocopied all the stuff I gave them and I was told that they need to make some additional checks, any ideas what these could be?

Does this mean I have been rejected for the account?

    Many thanks.
