    Sheena

Once you have spoken to Trading Standards, if still no joy, you should contact Fords UK head office. Although the garages are independently owned, I have heard that Ford UK takes customer issues very seriously and have been known to contact garage owners to sort matters out. They don't want any bad service to stain their reputation.

    Re: new car order contract

I signed a new car order form, and received a till receipt for the deposit, but as it was late we agreed to leave the ford options agreement for the following day.I know it was also silly that i walked away without seeing or receiving any paperwork. the sales rep left the message on my answer machine,(which i have kept) after he received my rec delivery letter. He also said that i offered to pay the car cash, (but i dont how he thought i could arrange credit within 2 weeks of picking this car up),and this is the reason he wants £600.but as yet since that call last week I have not heard anything from him, thank you all for your promt replys i will get in touch with trading standards and will let you of the court action .

I concur with Conmankiller. They know their rights (none) and are just trying it on.

I think the phrase is 'not a leg to stand on' where the 3 party agreement comes into play.

    Go get your cash back.

I don't disbelieve you but do you have any proof of the £600 remark or even the phone call?

You need to fight this on what you can prove not what you can't.

    Hi Sheena,

    Did you sign anything?

Did you get a receipt and the terms and conditions about your deposit?

If nothing is signed then I doubt he can demand another £600 (without a signed agreement from you to pay this)

If you haven't got a receipt and can be sure of the terms of your deposit, I think this is likely to not be refunded, but not impossible to persue.

    Sparky.

Yes, tell him it will be you taking them to court if they do not refund your deposit in full.

Where any deal was dependent on a finance agreement being taken out (three way agreements) they have to return the deposit if for any reason the finance agreement does not go ahead, if they still do not return your money...then initially seek the assistance of your local trading standards dept.

    new car order contract

Two weeks ago I ordered a new fiesta from ford, it was in there own stock, i was to go back the following day to sign the ford options agreement, i put down £100 deposit.received no paperwork. the following day i phoned to cancel the car order, as i worked out that the finance was not very good for me,the sales rep was not to happy and slamped the phone down on me. so i wrote a letter (rec delivery),and he phoned back saying he wanted another £600, and take me to the small claims court,I have since heard nothing since last week, any advice for me please.
