    Re: EDF online v5

That's pretty much an example of what I suggested. The fact that any persistance was required shows that your supplier was reluctant to switch you. The only good reason they would have is if the product was no longer "commercially" availble. Their Landings team, is basically another term for retentions and as you experienced they have a far wider remit than their general custoemr service teams

    Re: EDF online v5

Where a Power/Savings company usually uses comparison sites and pays commission but not on a particular product it is overwhelmingly because it's very finely priced and they don't feel/want to pay commission.

BUT that's not really why I'm contributing here. I do hope that everyone is reading the V5 t&cs before signing up OR furious of "no reading" doesn't come back here in x months time if the tariff goes wrong for him/her.

    Kramxel:

If there isn't a link to it, it generally means it's no longer commercially available.

Not sure that's quite right. If the tariff is listed its available but for various reasons the supplier has elected not to allow online switching. I had a similar experience with a Scottish Power tariff and as you suggest the tariff was managed by their "landings team", whatever that is. Took a little persistence but got it eventually.

If there isn't a link to it, it generally means it's no longer commercially available. I.e not availabe to sale to the general public. It would still be available for their home moves and retention teams - so that current customers can port the product to a new property and for EDf to attempt to retain customers by offering a better product (even at a reduced profit margin or short-term loss).

Armed with this infomation you "might" be able to call their customer services team's and negotate transfer to this product - there's no guarentee's of course but you might get lucky.

Why not phone the Moneysupermarket helpline number?

That said it looks like online switching isn't available. Take careful note of the tariff and obtain EDF contact details from the EDF Energy website.
