    Re: BT Billing Dispute

In order to avoiod paying costs, and to continue to be seen as the 'injured' party my advice would be to go back to BT and demand a correct final bill showing the 80.00 only that is owed, and that you have been awaiting this so that you can pay.

You are showing that you have been more than willing to pay this amount, but BT are incapbable of sending the correct bill, so that it can correclty be acknowledged and closed.

You should tell them that you are feeling stressed and harrased by the assignment of this debt and the DCAs behaviour.

Do this in writing sent recorded with a copy of the DCAs letter.

There is a particular key phrase you should use that I'm trying to find. I've seen conmankiller use it a few times.

You could also reply to the letter from the DCA noting that this debt is in dispute and you are in discussions with BT about this, that they shouldn't contact you again or visit your property.

There are lots of other threads with good examples of letters.

    Hope that helps.

    Sparky

    BT Billing Dispute

Hi everyone. Just wonder of you could give advice on my BT case.

I had a dispute with BT billings which I intend to bring to court.

Previously, I’m on BT landline, Broadband and BT Vsion. I was on direct debit on my three different accounts but after a year they sent another account number for BT landline which cost £80.00.

I was so disappointed so I cut all three services.

I paid disconnection charge for my BT vision which is fair enough since I’m under contract.

After several phone calls to costumer service I agreed to pay for the £80.00 but according to them they made a mistake on my billing.

When I got my last billing for that different landline account there is an additional disconnection charge so I called again the costumer service and the guy that I spoke with agreed that it was a mistake and he wanted me to pay directly to him over the phone the £80.00 and he told me just to ignore billing and the disconnection charge.

I didn’t accept his explanation and I asked him for a different billing without the disconnection charge.

To cut the story short, it end up on dept collector and asking me to pay £220.00

As mentioned earlier, I wanted to bring it to court but I don’t know where to start.

    What is my initial step?

Do I have to write to dept collector to inform that I’m bringing it to court?

Should I just ignore the letter from the debt collector and wait what will happen next?

    Please advice.

Thank you for taking time to read my post.
