Hi, EDF have been reading my meter wrongly and they have asked for £280 for the past year. They have been reading it and I've been giving them readouts but it appears that they have been using the wrong format, can't remember which way round but cubic feet instead of cubic meters or other way round.

Can they insist that I pay them this money, even though their representative at times has been reading the meter?

I really can't afford all this at once and will have to ask them to spread it if I have to pay, I was paying them by standing order and was £5.00 in credit every time, this has come as a bit of a shock.

They will answer your question about this particular issue which I understand has happened quite alot. It was in the press about a month ago.
