    Child savings accounts

There are better rates available in the market for normal accounts than for children's accounts but I don't want to spend ages trying to open them to find out there are minimum ages for "normal" accounts.

Can anyone please tell me if an U16 can open a normal "adults" bank/savings account?

    Thanks

    Hi Englishbyname,

Unfortunately most "normal" savings account have age restriction's on them, usually over 16. The current top easy access account actually requires you to be 18.

    Welsh by nature :-)
