Charity shops/car boots - faced with the same dilemma really, if it's a working machine I'll have to buy it for the part and then dump it, but thanks for the excellent good idea about the recycling centre - I'll certainly try there. Our local RC is manned by a group of really helpful blokes so I'm sure if I ask nicely they'll look through the pile of discarded vacs for me.

I'll let you know how I get on!

    Hi

This may be a silly suggestion. Have you been to your local council recycling centre. In my local centre there are separate accessible storage areas for small electricals. The last time I visited it was full of vacuums of all varieties. If you don't fancy taking a chance visiting the centre, contact your local council recycling officer and find out what they do with the unwanted electricals. I think they sell them on to companies, who take them apart and recycle any usable parts. Or keep looking in local junk or charity shops, one will turn up eventually.

Need Help Finding Spare Part for Vacuum Cleaner

    Hi,
Does anybody have an old non-working (?) handheld Dirt Devil vacuum gathering dust in a garage or shed somewhere please?

I have been trying to find the round, black, nozzle plug for the DD150UK model. This bit fits over the hole for the extension hose when it's not in use.

Unfortunately, this part is now obsolete and I am faced with the prospect of sending a perfectly working cleaner to the tip for the sake of this one small part.

I have tried every on-line vacuum parts supplier I can find on Google, contacted the manufacturers here and in the US, but no-one is able to supply the part. I've also tried all the local Freecycle groups with no success.

If anybody can help I would be very grateful.

    Thanks.
