Re: Aviva Home Insurance - Opinions

I agree, Aviva, Crawfords, Insure repair, Asprea, these companies are totally lacking in manners, professionalism, courtesy, understanding, my roof leak caused by storm damage was called in on the 22.1.10(morning) and it is now 24.1.10 (evening), all they have done is to pass me from one lackadaisical company to another more incompetent company.
How hard is it to arrange for someone to carry out repairs on a roof, all the responses I received were that I would have to arrange and pay for the work to be carried out myself, and that the monies for the work carried out may not be reimbursed.
Why do I pay these cretins an insurance policy, when they want myself to do their work for them. I have e-mailed who I can just now and the ombudsman too

Just don't claim for escape of water or storm damage.

    Actually, don't claim at all.

    Cheap for a reason...

    Hi DJW,

Ask for a copy of the policy wording and pay special to exclusion clauses and the level of excess. After studying this if you are confident enough that this policy is the one for you, then go for it.

However could they judst be trying to "buy" your business .!!!!!!!!!

I have just done a requote and it has come out at £132.50. If I went through Quidco and got the £80 cashback then the insurance would be £52.50. Even with Home Emergency and personal possesions it would work out at £138 with the cash back. Hmmm, would it be a decision that I regret later if I had to make a claim?

Re: Aviva Home Insurance - Opinions

    Hi

No opinion on their policy but I understand there are mixed reviews on claims handling. Whether any negative opinions are valid, I don't know as I have not had personal experience. Some people are negative about Insurance as they sometimes have unrealistic expectations and are very quick to enter negative reviews.

Is the £37 per year or per month? £37 a year sounds too cheap, as their minimum premium must be alot higher than this, even if there is a special offer. Expect premiums to go up at renewal.

Read the policy to check it offers what you need.. If you need to add extra cover, the premium may not be as competitive as you first thought.

    Aviva Home Insurance - Opinions

    Hi,

I was just wondering what people's opinions of Norwich Union's, sorry Aviva's, home insurance? Have just got a quote and with Quidco I can get buildings and contents for £37! Trouble is that I am just wondering do you get what you pay for? If they are no good, what would be other good ones to try?

    Thanks,

    D
