    switch con

I switched bank account to A&L to get £100. They won't pay it, saying I did not transfer my Direct Debits. But, I did.Has anyone else had this problem?

It's not happened to me but a few people have come to these boards to mention similar problems with other A&L promotions.

    simple dick:

Did you use the A&L switching service to transfer your Direct Debits or did you transfer them yourself? I think it was in the offer T&Cs to use the A&L switching service. Probably other hoops to jump through as well since its not supposed to be free money but gaining a (profitable) customer.

That said if you satisfied all the offer T&Cs you should insist on your money.

It is "standard banking practice" within A&L to promise all sorts with big posters in the window and then not to deliver when you get inside. Another example would be their current accounts that pay 10%, or whatever it is now, interest.

Is it true? I am tempted by their offer but if they are not trustworthy then perhaps I will stick with my current one then

It doesn't tempt me because I know how they work with other promotions. If you are tempted, you certainly need to read the small print in detail and not be led by the headlines alone. They certainly are not going to pay out £100 to anyone who fills in a form and deposits a fiver with them whatever anything says.

The promotion that I saw expired on 28 May but, as I say, I'm not sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for their next promotion.

Personally I choose a bank/building society because I trust them and I leave cashbacks, free gifts and so on to others.

Has anyone received their £100? I am sure that they will pay some people out and, even though they are not to my taste, "not trustworthy" seems a stonger phrase than might be appropriate.
