If there is an existing phone socket, you need to ask for that to be reactivated. BT will tell you that there might be a £125fee as they wont know until they've tested it whether the socket works or not. Usually they don't charge this fee but, being BT, they wont tell you until they send you the bill.

I need help, i have recently moved into a new flat and although i have sky + i dont have a telephone line, i contacted sky and asked what i needed to do. They were really helpful and sorted everything out and told me i needed to ring bt and arrange to have a phone line activated as the previous tenant took the number etc. with her.

So i phoned bt and spoke to someone so rude and horrible that i ended up hanging up in tears. i have no idea how to set up a phone line and really do need some help...

what do i need to do and ask for???
