Re: Insurance roof repair and title deeds

Hi - In most cases I would think this was a strange request, but as you state this is a flat then the insurer could be simply ascertaining the burden of responsibility to repair the said damage, or enquiring if it's a shared liability by looking at the deeds..

You can download a copy of your title deeds for £3 direct from the HM Land registry website, saving you £57

Insurance roof repair and title deeds

Is it normal for an insurance company to request a copy of the title deeds for a roof repair. I am in an upstairs flat. The insurance company want to see the title deeds before they will proceed with the repair. My mortgage lender wants £60 for a copy. I've already stumped up for the excess and dont see why I should have to fork out more before they will authorise the repair.
