I think you will find if your friends dad is paying £450 for a car and its open driving then the vehicle will be on a fleet policy to be that premium with NU. There is no guranntee he is actually covered as NU tend to restrict these fleets to drivers over 21 now and drivers under 21 need to be noted. They only started doing this fairly recently so a lot of customers still think they have cover for any driver or any age

i work for norwich union and let me explain the rates of insurance change montly each postcode has a different rating system so he could be in a different postcode from you .. let me give you some good advise . Open driving is supossed to be for emergency purposes only there is no way that that person got a qte for £450 as open driving means that we are covering for any person with any amount of claims and conv ... its not worth is just name yourself on your dads policy .

A lot will depend on who the main driver is, but, if you are the main driver and you falsely say that the main driver is dad, then the policy will not be valid.

    norwich union open driving!

    hi

i read another post on here about open driving policies after my friend who is 18 said his dad got one on his focus and the premium was £450 per year

i tried to get a quote on a 02 plate laguna 1.8 with open driving and it come back 2500 more tha i pay at the moment??

if anybody on here has one of these policies how much was your premium and how was it so low?
