In short: Find yourself an IFA you trust (or one recommended by a friend).

There are so many different products out there, and so many influencing factors in your life and your view of the world that to attempt to give straightforward comprehensive advice on here would be difficult.

    Insurances for First Time Buyers

    Hi!
My partner and i are in the middle of buying our first home together and understand the need for insurances, although we are very confused as there seems to be a lot of choices and products!
We are 27 and 28 years old, both non smokers and are buying a property worth £175000.
I currently work as a long term temp (awaiting a permenant contract within the next month) earning £19000 a year and my partner earns £30000 a year. A large proportion of his earnings is unsecured overtime and the company he works for have been making reduncies, although he feels he is safe in his job. We would like to protect our wages if thats possible incase one of us loses our job, (which given the information just could happen). We would like to cover ourselves if one of us dies the mortgage is paid off and the spouse left is still covered. and then obviously home and contents isurance too.
Can anyone advices us on the best way to go
    Thankyou!
