insurance/breakdown cover when car needs repairs?

this is a bit of an unusual question: I have a old car (bought second hand) that I had insured with churchill. I haven't driven it for the last year (you don't get much driving in London, sadly)
and was thinking of getting it back in shape for the summer. Right now of course the insurance expired and would need a new one. The problem is that apparently it has some mechanical problem and would not start

Has anybody had a similar situation? Does anybody know if any insurance/breakdown cover scheme would cover this if I got it now?

Probably just needs a tow to mechanic and tweaking the starter but... worth asking in any case

    Thanks! :)

Breakdown cover would only commence on a car that is legally on the road and in good working order, declarations would need making to this effect before the cover would be allowed to proceed sometimes after a further small waiting period.
