I must admit I have had a devil of a job to find insurance for my 28yo daughter, I bought the car thinking cad d only a little bit of panel damage cant be to bad, asked the chap in the garage where I bought the car who told me you will have no problems at all with a cat d just stay away from cat c.

I must of tried 15 different companies, in the end I got a fantastic quote comprehensive fully protected disclosed the cat d to them as well and the company name is Likewise Insurance, and it us insured with advantage insurance company.

If you are struggling give them a punt, you got nothing to lose. I found them very helpful.

Try Aidrian Flux Insurance just done it myself today for Cat D Jag and no problems. Quite competative too.

Yes, looks like anyone who has read this has so far been unable to supply any further assistance, when this happens it means that other individuals are incapable of providing further help.... unfortunately it means that you are on your own for the time being and will just have to keep searching and hoping......that's reality for you. !

Yes, I have been on Money Super Market searching for insurance from many days. Whenever I call the insurer with the reference and quote they are happy to provide the quote. But, once I mention that the car was previously "cat D" written off. The insurer doesn't want give the insurance.

I am sure there are tens of 1000s of written off cars back on road, specially the CAT d, which are just minor cosmetic damage.

It would be of great help if you could give list of insurance providers who would be happy to provide insurance for previously written off car. I am sure this will help many people out there who might not have declared that their car is previously written off and take risk when it comes to claim.

It was a few years ago and basically they didn't ask any more and so I didn't say any more about the matter. I can't remember who it was with. Certainly, in your shoes, I wouldn't be dishonest but, if they didn't ask, I wouldn't mention the write off.

If I don't tell them, would it invalidate my insurance if I had to make a claim during the unfortunate time and the whole purpose of the insurance would become meaning less.

I insured a similar car a while ago. I had the same problems as you but, when I phoned up for one quote, I was told that, as long as I didn't tell them, they would insure the car. So I didn't tell them again...

I have bought previously written off car, CAT D. I need insurance for the same. Does anyone know which company provides insurance for such type of cars ?

I spoke to few companies and they said that they don't insure such vechicles. For example: Swift cover won't insure for previously written of car and LLoyds may insure, if the car was previously written off by LLodys and not for cars which was written off by other companies.

Can somebody help me to find suitable insurer who would provide insurance for previously written off car. I searched many sites but couldn't find any suitable links or list of companies who would provide insurance for previously written off cars.
