Thanks for the tips, farmloon and devonshire dumpling...I'll pass the suggestions on, and hopefully they'll get some more reasonable quotes :-)

Try SAGA for insurance. They are generally very good with over 60's and for those with diagnosed medical conditions.

Do the couple have household insurance buildings and or contents?? If so try them as existing customers they may be a better option than specialist travel insurers. Whatever the pre-existing medical condition will almost certainly be excluded.

    Over 75s travel insurance

Does anyone know of a reputable insurance company that would cover a trip to New Zealand for just under 90 days for a couple aged 79yrs and 80yrs? (One of whom has a pre-existing med condition). They are looking at two possible options - either to cover for the whole trip (single trip option) or to try to get two 'flight only' insurance policies. However, internet research so far has indicated these policies seem v rare and/or are totally extortionate (eg/ around £4000)! Any helpful advice appreciated. Thanks!
