Not that this forum seems to be particularly active but I'll try anyway, as I don't know who to turn to.

I need to buy a (travel) insurance that will cover me and my valuables on the following circumstances:

- Travelling in sub-Saharan Africa for up to 4 months

- Carrying expensive camera kit (i.e. camera plus accessories) worth about £1500

- Camera itself bought second hand so proof of purchase is only a hand-written receipt (not sure if this would be a problem for a possible claim)

- Don't have a home contents insurance, as I share a flat and will give up my room while I'm away (and if I understand correctly, due to the length of the trip the camera wouldn't be covered anyway)

Is there any single policy that I could get? How can I get my equipment insured for the trip?

Any ideas very welcome.
