    Directline and small print

I am disgusted with Directline pet insurance, not only did they refuse part of our claim when our dog had emergency treatment and had to be euthanised, they are now demanding another premium, due to the claim being made after 21st of the month!

I would discourage anyone from using them, we only made 3 claims in 10 years, and they were slow to process each claim, but never slow to ask for money!!

    Re: Directline and small print

Has anyone else had issues like this with direct line? I have had a claim turned down on the basis that the dog has had a previous ear infection that we did not claim on and cleared up 6 months prior to our claim. They are saying that we should notify them everytime we go to the vet even if we dont claim. Our vest say they have never heard anything so daft and are having a similar problem with anotehr custoemr who is also with direct line. Could it be that they are trying to improve cash flow now they are to be sold off??

Having read the small print now I also discover that they have been taking a premium for a dog that is too old for them to cover anyway - it is one of the first things they ask so you would have thought they should know!

We have always used Tesco pet insurance for our cats and can't fault them - we claimed for a "growth" to be removed from one cats neck and they paid up with no problem - This would make an interesting discussion topic - what about it - admin ?
