    yea, i would check it....

If E.on did not make any mistakes at the first place why would they need to check it? And let me tell you what, spending time on waiting on the phone is not a good idea of solving problems.

    Hi

I would check previous bills to see if they were based on estimated meter readings. If this is the case the high bill could be a catch up. You may have been underpaying in the past.

Also, make sure there are no estimated meter readings on your latest bill. If there are take the actual readings and ask for a revised accurate bill.

If the high bill is a result of under charging in the past contact E.ON and ask for a payment arrangement. This will allow you to spread the cost over a similar period to that for which you were undercharged.

Should your bills have been estimated previously ask for them to be re-billed at the prices current at the time the energy was used. You should not be paying for energy used a year ago at today’s prices.

At the same time check the tariff you are on is the best for you. Discounts are available for paying with a Fixed Direct Debit and managing your account online.

Are you energy efficient? Savings can be made if you have things like cavity wall and loft insulation or an efficient boiler. There are also many small changes you can make to help save money.

E.ON has an energy efficiency team who advise on ways to cut usage. Give them a call if you think you would benefit from this free advice.

    Re: Hi e'on bill..

This unfortunetly is far from uncommon.

My wife and I had a bill from as was then Powergen, which was a very high bill for purely electric. We queried it and were told it was for the combination of gas and electric. We phoned back a week later and were told the same was purely for electric. After a while of complaining the next quarterly bill was issued. We then continued to query the first bill and asked for it to be re-evaluated, in which it then escalated by almost £120. After realising they really didn't know what they were doing, and they were very very rude, we switched to a prepay meter with the debt on it, got rid of the debt and then got rid of Powergen, disgusting, rude, unprofessional and expensive.

We are now with npower, to which if we ever have any questions or problems, they've always been helpful.
