    Re: NPower Final Bill

Have you paid your final bill from oct - jan? If not then this is why

But i know 100% fact that you have not used 4421kwh in four months that is rubbish put it this way we have have 3 people in our house were not that carefull with our elec and gas but from 1 dec 08 to about the end of jan so about 2 months we used 550 units so u hav basically used twice as much in 4 months. I mean obviously i don't know what kind of house you live in whether its a 2 bed terrace of a 10 bedroomed mansion but ours is a 3 bed semi but to be using that much elec theres either somet wrong with your meter or you use a hell of a lot of elec.

Yes, that usage is possible. The important thing to check though is that the last meter reading matches the first meter reading with the new supplier. It doesn't matter greatly who you pay for the last thousand units as long as you don't pay for them twice.

    Re: NPower Final Bill

I rang and they did say they would be able to spread it. But Ive arranged to speak tomorow so that I have time to ensure everything is the same as with BG. Ive signed up to their online now so from now on I will always know where I am. I just don't understand how their billing me to Jan 15th when my account was supplied by BG from the 10th? And how they can send me a letter stating over £200 credit one day and bill for £106 the next week. It's just bad service. Does 4421kWh for 2 and half months sound right? We have the heating on timer for about 3-4hrs evening and 30mins morning and use the cooker around 20 hours over the week? Thankyou for the reply!

You should check that the BG starting meter reading matches both the nPower finishing meter reading and the reading that you took at the time of the switch.

If you can't pay the bill straight away, you should phone up customer services and ask to, perhaps, pay half on the next payday and half the payday after.

    NPower Final Bill

Hi, Still not completely got to grips with this, only moved into our own place in July. I recently discovered on here that British Gas were going to be cheaper for our utilities. So when not so long after someone knocked on our door I switched. I was informed that I would just have to make a final bill to NPower who we have been in credit with from the word go then all was done. Well firstly we got a letter from Npower stating that I was over £200 in credit. I knew this wasn't the case as we were on £60 in credit for the summer and obviously using more over winter months. So I thought best to ring and check it and was informed I was pretty much equal on both accounts just slightly in credit by £10 or so. I thought nothing more of it and although I was slightly surprised to be charged by both companies in Jan. Anywho I recieved my letters from BG stating they would be taking over my gas account on 10th Jan all good. However today I have recieved a bill asking for £106.24 from NPower to be paid by 15th Feb for services dated 17th Oct to 15th Jan.....but im now with BG? I was told in Jan that i was all even. Im fully aware that our useage is more but I really don't understand what's the right amount (apparently for 2 people at work all day we used 4421kWh from oct-jan?) and how they can ask us to pay this in the next five days when we were previously told otherwise. Im just at a loss as what to do....I don't have anywhere near that a week before payday!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
