Hi, just to add my opinion to this topic

I am a Car Insurance Consultant at Endsleigh a have been for some time. What i do believe has happened is that you have entered for a new quote on Endsleigh's website directly - after moneysupermarket has passed you though. On Endsleigh's website there is no box to tick with regards to being contacted or not, there is simply a selection of wording at the bottom of the page that reads like so :

'The details you provide will be used by Endsleigh to send you the information you have requested. We may wish to contact you by post, email or telephone. By providing your contact details when completing an online quotation you are consenting to be contacted about that quotation. Your details may also be used to let you know about other products and services offered by this company and other companies in the Endsleigh Group, full details available on request, and carefully selected third parties. By providing your contact details you are consenting to be contacted for such marketing purposes'.

You can check this at the bottom of the Car Insurance new quotation page at http://www.quotes-endsleigh.co.uk/motorquote/quote.aspx?referralid=&icid=

I hope this helps to clear things up - i do not believe that this is down to moneysupermarket. But simply a reqoute on Endsleigh's own website which would in turn enable you to be contacted (with consent).

    Many Thanks.

    Hi 'FatMikel',

    Thanks for your feedback.

You're quite right - if you indicated that you did not want to be contacted by this company on our site, you should not be contacted by them.

As part of our Customer Promise, you can ask us to stop passing your information to third parties for marketing purposes at any time - and you can read our full Terms & Conditions by clicking here.

Can I just check that you definitely indicated you didn't want to be contacted on both our site and after we passed you through to the Endsleigh website? If you can email me directly with the details of your quote, I'll be happy to look into this further for you. I'll also personallymake sure that, if we're found to be responsible, this will stop immediately. I'd like to apologise for the frustration this has clearly caused, but I would also appreciate the opportunity to establish the full facts.

Under the terms of the Data Protection Act, we can't pass on any information without your express permission. At the moment when you click-through to a provider, it is the insurer who deals with you. You are then giving the insurer information, not moneysupermarket.com. Of course, you again need to be absolutely sure to tick/untick the box which allows them to contact you.

If you have any queries relating to our use of your personal data or any other data protection issues, please contact our Data Protection Officer at DPO @ moneysupermarket.com (please remove the spaces around the @ symbol).

If needs be, you can also contact our Customer Services teamon 0845 345 5708 (lines are open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm) or by emailing customerservices @ moneysupermarket.com (please remove the spaces around the @ symbol).

As I say, I'm more than happy to look into this for you if you can email me with your details.

    Many thanks,

Why I won't be using moneysupermarket ever again.

    Cold callers.

I untick the box during the quote to say that I don't want these calls, yet I still get them.

Ever since I got a quote for car insurance at the weekend, I've been getting calls from Endsleigh, where there is no one else on the other end. Three calls in a row, at least 4 times a day.

This happened last time I came here looking for a quote, but the number was for budget insurance.

When I untick that box, I expect you to not pass my number on to third partys. However, you continue to do so, and therefore I shall never use this website for quotes on anything ever again. I never get these from confused.com, so why do you pass my number on?

    Good job.
