Re: formal complaint submitted about evening and weekend speed

Wasn't the price lowered because of the VAT reduction from 17.5% to 15%? Anyway I agree about the service, it has steadily gotten worse towards the end of last year/beginning of this year. However, I've heard o2 are upgrading a few exchanges, just hoping that'll work somehow.

formal complaint submitted about evening and weekend speed

well now it seems everyman and his dog have signed up to o2 because of the low prices the speed im getting has dropped like a stone to near dial up speed of between 0.1 and 0.2mbps from 5pm to midnight every day and its almost as bad at the weekend purely because of the amount of people theyve signed up.

its virtually unusable so i submitted a formal complaint to them as i should be able to get 5mbps on my line with their service to unbundled areas but mines never even got close to that, i dont know why ofcom let isp's get away with such misleading statements about speed.

it got dramatically worse after christmas about when they lowered the price to £7 so im guessing theyve had so many people join up that theyve oversubscribed the network and its all being taken up by steaming video from people coming in after work.

i really dont know why people rate this so highly, perhaps my service to unbundled areas is different to their regular service but i want out of my contract to join a decent isp where the internet is at least useable in the evenings.
