I'd say don't waste your money. I'm a police officer and the majority of our vehicles don't have tracker activation devices in them. It's only the traffic dept that do and they are always thin on the ground! Buy a good crook lock, that will sort you out.

Diesels are not popular with thieves because they don't like the idea of waiting two seconds for the warm up. They want to get started straight waay and, of that doesn't happen, there must be something wrong.

Some tracking services will arrange for a car to be picked up anywhere in the UK after it's been recovered and they'll charge a subscription fee for that. There is more than one option.

Re: Tracker Monitor Stolen Vehicle Recovery System

I had a Tracker system fitted about 5 years ago to a brand new Rover 75 Diesel Estate costing £21k but it was a hasty, regretful decision as nobody bothers nicking those motors.

There was also an annual subscription charge in addition at that time and not sure if that still applies.

Tracker can provide you with a list of insurers who give a discount but none were suitable for my needs at that time.

A quality alarm / immobiliser like Thatcham grade is also a good alternative if your motor is not in the favourites list for car thieves and you don't live in a "dodgy" area occupied by lots of joyriders.

It's not worth spending that money on my car but with a car costing tens of thousands or a high risk vehicle (like police patrol cars), it would be expected.

Tracker Monitor Stolen Vehicle Recovery System

Has anyone ever had Tracker Monitor Stolen Vehicle Recovery System fitted to your car? Has it altered your insurance in anyway, im keen to know if its worth spending £700 on as a one off payment.

On the other hand if it doesnt save money then not sure if to have it.

    thanks
