    Re: British Gas Bill problem

They have not refused to pay you the credit, they have just fobbed you off. You are clearly unhappy with the direct debit system so why not take the £97 and switch to quarterly billing? This might mean that you miss a discount and it will mean big bills in the winter and small bills in the summer but you will be payinmg for what you use, when you use it. This might suit you better.

I agree 100% that BG are not an easy company to deal with. If they do actually refuse to do as you wish, you can involve

    British Gas Bill problem

What are my rights concerning the following:- Our gas bill came and once again we noticed we were in credit, this time we were in credit by 90 pounds, we rang the gas board up and asked would they reimburse us this money, their answer was, "your direct debit is getting reassesed in March, and even though 10% is being taken off your gas bill you may still not be in credit because it is still winter."

When I enquired about me being in credit he stated their was no refunds given unless it was over 150 pounds, he also said I could have the 97 pounds but this would mean cancelling my direct debit and starting anew direct debit which may also mean me paying an increase in my direct debit, Q. is this right that they can refuse to pay me what im owed in credit, or is is right that before they will reimburse me I have to be in credit over 150 pounds, the last bill before this bill I was in credit by 140 pounds, British gas are getting their gas alot cheaper now but they are very greedy and will not pass their massive savings onto their customers, to me this is so wrong.
