still no one has got back to me after my call to gateway insurance 2 days ago to ask why they have scrapped my car

i even emailed swinton to ask them no reply from them either

you can bet your last dollar if you owed them £5 they wouldnt stop calling you

gateway and swinton ..can one of you confirm to me why you have scrapped my car without paying a penny out on it

and the claim is still ongoing..and why you never even bothered to tell us this was going to happen

REMEMBER TO TELL YOUR BROKER WHEN TAKING OUT INSURANCE

TO AVOID HASSLE/DISSAPOINTMENT LATER..TELL THEM U DONT WANT GATEWAY AS YOUR INSURANCE

Re: held to ransom by swinton car insurance

Well to say they were going to get straight back to me it's now 7.30pm.

Is there any one out there who knows if that car is still legally mine, as I have not had a penny off it and the claim is still ongoing.

Can I sue them for scrapping my car without my consent.?

Re: held to ransom by swinton car insurance

re phoned dvla today they confirmed it had been scrapped i asked by who..they said it must be by my insurance company......so i phone my crap insurance company and asked them why they have scrapped my car when it still belongs to me as no monies has been paid out on it and its still a on going claim ..i asked them why i got no call ..no email..nor a letter saying this was going to happen .im still under the illusion they have to offer it back to you first how can this be justified this firm is the biggest waste of time i have ever come across...i also asked them did they manage to find a map of the road they started looking for 2-3 weeks ago..i asked is there any news on the claim itself ..he told me what i already knew its still ongoing .....when i re asked about why they scrapped my car without telling us he said i will get someone to phone you back ...i asked him did he want a £5 bet no one will..

PEOPLE BE WARNED ..GATEWAY INSURANCE YOU WOULD BE MAD TO USE THIS COMPANY

ASK YOUR BROKER WHEN PURCHASING CAR INSURANCE TO MAKE SURE YOU DONT END UP WITH THESE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE...WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF HASSLE.. REMEMBER ..GATEWAY INSURANCE WERE THERE DOOR IS ALWAYS SHUT

Re: held to ransom by swinton car insurance

update coming very soon now in touch with the insurers direct as the brokers are a waste of time

i would 100% recommend finding out before you pay the broker if you want to use 1...me never again... who your insurer will be as a lot of people think there broker is there insurer ...then doing some research about your insurer before paying ..believe me you will want to read some of the email i have from them... there will be upates coming soon as the insurer im with are incapable..they are asking me to except a 50/50..i have asked them on what grounds..i cant get a answer to this question i have phoned them and e mail is flowing between us ..to no answers to my question.. the letter they sent out instead states

as you may be aware the 3rd party insures are still disputing liability

both versions of events are feasible and we believe that a 50/50 judgement would be made

we are not prepared to fund a course of action that we do not believe will succeed

here is my question to them that i cant get a answer to

on what grounds are you willing to go 50/50 on when the only blame on my side that is turning up ...is what the other insurers are speculating that i could not have been as vigilant as i claim to be..that is it nothing more nothing less

this is the evidence i have given to my insurers

i had right of way he never

he come across my path infront of a bus ..his insurance sent me a letter saying he come from behind the bus ..

he ended up 65ft away from the collision me 3ft max

i have a solicitors letter from them stating he was half way across the junction when the lights turned amber

i proved them wrong sent them video evidence that once he goes through his lights he turns left across a junction box then across my path i went up and drove his path with a video camera proving there are no more lights after he has gone through his set therefore if hes seen a amber light hes seen them before he turned left into the junction

i have asked them why they are not fighting my corner like the other partys are fighting his with 1 piece of speculation

i have the reply in email you will not believe wot i was told by someone who works for my insurance

and it will be used against them

    oldhamred:

sir digby that could be the reason they dont bother rushing things for there paid up customers nor do anything to help them..since i was last on the phone to them not even a phone call or email from them ..to say they sent out in there words ...another letter to the solicitors dealing with it...to busy grabbing other suckers money

MASSIVE LESSON LEARNED HERE STAY AWAY FROM BROKERS ...GO DIRECT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANIES THEMSELF AFTER YOUVE GOT YOUR QUOTE ..AFTER ALL THE BROKER GETS A COMISSION FROM THE INSURERS..SO YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO CUT THERE COMMISSION OUT AND GET A BETTER DEAL

Whilst I appreciate the method behind the madness here, it's completely incorrect. Direct insurers have the poorest underwriting and focus on attracting the customer with media advertising; something which costs a great deal more than broker commissions I can assure you.

The aquisition cost to the insurer through a broker is minimal. eg. for £1000 premium a GOOD broker (with a minimal claims book) will look to get £125-£150 maximum. In addition their 'books' will be balanced with quality risks rather than those direct to insurers for many reasons. Face-to-Face risk analysis, no mistakes made with online quotation forms, pre-vetted information, liability on broker for inconcise information, PI claims through misadvising, etc.

You will get cheap prices from direct insurers but they are cheap for a reason. They don't have the balance right and the outsourced claims experience will be appalling.

Finally, Swinton are NOT a brokerage in any way, shape or form. The history behind them makes them rather bias as to whom they place business with or through. They are certainly not independent either.

Re: held to ransom by swinton car insurance

i work for directline car insurance. you will only get your no claims bonus when the claim is actually settled, up until that piont its guilty until priven innocent, even though liability was on the other party. its the insurance company thats taking it to court not your neighbour, as they dont want ot pay out.

you'll get reinbursed when its all blown over
