Re: Previous owner had bad credit

By fraudulently using your address he is not showing you any goodwill or respect, therefore why should you do him any favours.?

If he was to be successful, eventually you and your family will be harassed by letters from debt collectors continually arriving with the threat of court proceedings, or bailiffs calling about HIS debts.....if you don't want it to get to that stage, report the matter to the Police, who will investigate the criminal offence of him attempting to obtain credit, goods or services by deception.

    Previous owner had bad credit

We bought a house from a private developer 18 months ago. We then found out that the previous owner beforehand had credit problems and the house was repossessed. When we first moved in we had different CCJ letters and baliffs notices, but we explained the situation and eventually these stopped.

I checked whether this would have an adverse affect on our credit rating and have been told no, as companies would look against our name and address - and not his name. We've had no problems getting credit ourselves either before or after moving into the property.

However, we have had a few letters recently from credit card and loan companies addressed to him (but sent to our address) and it appears he is trying to apply for loans using our address. Which is daft as the correspondence comes to us! He's been refused so far, but can we do anything to stop this from happening?

    Any advice most welcome.
