Re: Tesco Personal Finance still part of RBS group?

Thanks for your advice however i have this debt registered with the charity run debt mananagement programme payplan who seem to be doing a good job with dealing with this creditor for me but they advised me to get another bank account as even though no direct debit or standing order is set up with my new account with natwest they might still try to intervene with my account as it is part of the rbs group.

Like i said in my previous post i have since found out tesco have bought out Rbs but just needed to know if my bank account would be safe as payplan say no

If you pay someone by direct debit, they can take whatever they want from your bank account subject to certain rules that they are supposed to follow. You should only set up a direct debit with organisations who you trust to get things right. Other than direct debits and similar payment mandates, no one has access to your bank account. Certainly one company cannot take money out just because they are part of the same group.

Tesco Personal Finance still part of RBS group?

Please could i have some expert advice i have a outstanding debt with Tesco Personal Finance which i am slowly paying off,so far they have been ok about the amount i can repay per month which isnt alot, however i bank with natwest who are part of the RBS group who used to be in partnership with Tesco Personal Finance.

My question is as Rbs are no longer in partnership with Tesco Personal Finance, is my bank account safe with natwest?

Do Tesco Personal Finance have the legal right to access funds from my Natwest Account without my say so as the group used to be in partnership with RBS.

I have had my loan with them since Fed 08 so just before the buy out

    Please can anyone advise me?

    Thanks
