    Re: Claiming from two policies

It's certainly worth reading the policy documents. Many home insurance policies also exclude high value items, incidents outside the house/UK and so on. If it looks like you might be covered and you decide to make a claim, you must give details of the claim that has already been made. Obviously the most that they will pay out is the difference between the value and the payout you've had.

    Claiming from two policies

    Hello

broke my camera, in Dec 08 it cost me £700new, the lens also broke £350 new, current cost to replace approx £800 due to lastest model is cheaper. I claimed from my travel insurance, they only paid £250 minus £35 excess, their single item limit in the policy. Unfortunately if i knew that at the time i would not have bothered, but there PDF policy wanted korean fonts downloading for that particular page it was a blank piece of paper on the screen but thats another story.

The question is can i go to my home insurance contents cover and claim the difference between the replacement value and the £250 already paid?

    thank you
