    Re: Finding my father's investments

Hi - Contact the shares registrar at each of the companies in the link, between them they hold most shareholder details of individual companies where your Father may have invested. In the link there are Five main registrars...click on "list shares" and it will tell you all which companies that particular registrar is responsible for.

    http://www.netprobate.co.uk/resources/Registrars/registrars.php

If you have certain companies in mind & wish to search by company names ....click "shares" to the left of the page it lists company names alphabetically, then provides the name of the registrar.

    Thanks for this.

Do you have any ideas on finding shares as, knowing my father, it is much more likely to be a direct investment than a unit trust.

    Re: Finding my father's investments

The British Bankers Association, the Building Societies Association and National Savings and Investments (NS&I), have launched a joint venture, My Lost Account to replace separate account tracing tools. Use this to find lost current accounts, savings accounts or premium bonds.

With details of over 200,000 pensions schemes The Pensions Service provides a tracing service which helps you find an up-to-date contact address for the scheme you're looking for.

For help in tracing unit trusts you can contact the Investment Management Association, either by phone or email, and they will investigate your claim.

The Association of Investment Companies will take you through the process of searching for lost investment trusts if you call them up on 0207 282 5555.

If you've lost a life policy The Unclaimed Assets Register can be used to trace it by completing the online search form or printing it out and sending it off.

    Finding my father's investments

I have recently received information that my deceased father had some investments we did not know about, and for a fee I can be re-united with them.

Before paying out to some company, are there any searches I can do to try to find them myself?
