    BT Broadband

I currently have BT Broadband Share 2000 which is far in excess of what I need (and costs a lot per month). I want to downgrade to BT option1 but are having great difficulty in getting any sense out of BT on this.

I have completed my exiting contact with BT. They seem to info that if I change I will need a new hub which I will have to pay for but as I arlready have a hub why do I need a new one.

If I do remain with BT I want the tranistion to be painless.

Additionally if I move from BT to another supplier will Ihave to change email addresses?

    Confused of MH

    Re: BT Broadband

    Hi,

Technically speaking there shouldn't be any need to change your modem, however you may find that BT impose restrictions on opening new/ transferring to another broadband package - one of those may be that to downgrade you need to buy a new hub (and as such they'll use it as a deterrent to try and stop people downgrading).

If you decide to leave BT altogether and go to another broadband supplier then you will lose access to any BT email accounts. The easiest way to avoid falling into this trap again is to sign up to an email account that is not linked to any broadband supplier such as Gmail, Hotmail etc.

    Hope this helps!
