Write to the finance company / car shaft by recorded delievery , refussing the goods under the sales of goods act due to not been fit for the purpose sold. Advice the finance company that they are jointly liable as per your contract about the quality of goods and that it does also state that you have a right to sue them also if its not satisfactory resolved.

Hi, my name is Sandra Gibbons, I am the current Customer Service Manager at Carcraft. If anybody has any current issues that they do not feel have been resolved please give me a call on 01706 753391and I will be happy to talk through any problems that you are experiencing. Thanks.

Give the lady in this thread a ring, she claims that she is the customer services manager of Carcraft and will look into any complaints to try and get them resolved. If she is serious, then a satisfactory outcome to your particular problem could be posted on here by yourself, inform her that her successful intervention would give her the credibility that she would deserve on this forum.

It would be a good PR exercise for her and Carcraft.

help - carcraft are playing hardline on us

carcraft/carland of enfield sold us a citreon c2 at the weekend and we took it for a test drive around the local roads. when we drove it back on the motorway home, the steering wheel had a serious wobble, the car shook and the whole ride was uncomfortable. my wife who the car is for refused to drive any more, and did not want the car. we rang carcraft and after 5 days of bad customer service where their managers kept saying that only the general manager can decide if we can swap the car for another, did they turn round and say that it was only the wheel balancing and they have fixed that. The fact is that they sold us the car with this fault, and the car turned out to be not the car we hoped it would. The GM has turned round and said tough luck basically, you got to keep the car and refuses to even consider exchanging it for a vw bora that we have seen on their website. This company used to be carland, and still have that website up and running - and on that website it has that customers can exchange a car if they wish and a similar or same price banded car will be given. This GM is saying that as there is not a serious fault with the car, tough luck. we have said that we only want to exchange it. His managers told us that only he can make this decision, but he is hiding from this and says its customer services. They then say its him and round and round we have gone. They never call us back, i have been on hold up to an hour each day, and they never answer their phones. Where do we legally stand about returning the car, exchanging it for another, or just cancelling the whole deal. the finance company we are with even were surprised saying that there should be a cooling off period or 14 day not satisfied returns - carcraft just say they don't have a returns policy or an exchange policy. when i point out that its on their website they say that we bought the car off carcraft and its on the carland website - but when i called customer services back, they told me that carland was bought by carcraft 2 years ago and own them outright. Please - someone out there offer us some help and guidance as we are faced with the prospect of having a car for 5 years that we do not want, and its made my wife very depressed.
