Good morning tipsy (the best nickname I have come across!)

I am afraid I cannot claim to be an expert in this area. I am so sorry you are going through this - it must be an unbelieveable worry. Although your solicitor does charge for advice - it is worth paying. Taking the best course of action now may help you get the right outcome.

Don't worry my lesson has been learned but sadly too late in this instance! Thanks for the response though :)

Silly silly SILLY woman. Never NEVER allow a man to proove he has paid bills. I'm not saying that you can't live with someone, but these men do it all the time and women too. Personally to aviod all these costs get him to pay you in CASH so he can't prove a damn thing. We live and we learn!

Land Registry: Application for a Restriction Against the Sale of the Land

    Hi

I appreciate that this topic was covered recently with regards to somebody owing money to creditors but my situation is slightly different and therefore I wondered if anyone could help.

I own my own home and paid for over half of it outright so the mortgage isn't too big. My ex partner lived with me for around 18 months during this time he paid money towards bills etc including the mortgage (however there were occassional months when he did not pay these bills and there were a number of bills that I paid for in full myself). My ex has now applied for a Restriction Against the Sale of the Land citing that he has paid towards bills and maintenance. Although he has paid towards some bills he has never paid a penny towards maintenance (which can be proven with receipts etc). I assumed this would go away quite quickly but the Land Registry have not thrown out his application depsite representation from my solictor and it now looks as though I'll have to go to court. I just wondered if anyone had any past experience of this and how likely it would be that I'll have to pay some money out for this. Plus if anyone has any tips for dealing with this matter I'd be grateful to hear from you? I appreciate IOcould ask my solicitor some of this but my fees are already nearing £1000.00!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give I would really really appreciate it.
