Currently we owe £168 000. We are just breaking even at the minute with the bills. If we could not afford the bills and file for bankruptcy do you have to pay any of the debt back.

Currently our income is £51,000 per year. All the bills are in my girlfriends name. She earns around 38k per year. How much does it cost to file for bankruptcy and will she have to pay anything back as she earns a decent wage. And if so how much?
