racelle:A friend borrowed our car and as she already had her own fully comprehensive insurance we took the risk and decided not to add her as a named driver on ours. Subsequently she wrote the car off. (No one was seriously hurt). As she was only 3rd party insured to drive our car the other driver will have her damage covered but we are left with nothing.
Does anyone know if there is something we can do, other than demand our friend replaces the car?
Thanks.
I guess you could sue your friend, but that's much the same as demanding she replaces the car. Sounds like a recipe for losing friends to me.
As you said; you decided to take the risk. Presumably the accident was your friend's fault?
