    Re: Internet Phones

WAP is little more than dial up speeds - ie) around 40Kb

3G is more like slow broadband

    3.5G is better - more like 2Gb !!

These all depend on where you live and signal strength ....

Thanks for the info. How much more bandwidth 3G offers compared with WAP?

    Re: Internet Phones

Here are some of the charges for downloading data on to your phone when browsing the internet.

    Orange - 0-3MB = £3.00 per MB, 3-15MB = £2.00 per MB, 15+MB = £1.00 per MB
    O2 - £3.00 per MB
    3 - £2.00 per MB
    T-Mobile £7.50 per MB
    Vodafone - £2.35 per MB

Your normally get a data allowance included as part of your monthly line rental (same as free minutes and texts). The fees and charges above apply when you exceed your allowance. T-Mobile charge £7.50 a month for web n walk giving unlimited access to the internet. This is a good deal if you use more than 100 MB per month

    Re: Internet Phones

OK, Web'n'walk is a product from T-Mobile and i-mobe is another product from someone else.

WAP and 3G are protocols and methods of communication. So Web'n Walk and i-mobe will both use WAP or 3G.

Charges are tarriff dependent and protocol dependent so there is no easy answer to this although they both give internet access to suitable handsets.
