    British Gas - Electric supply (1 bedroom flat - £1,700 a year!!)

    Please help.

I moved into my 1 bedroom flat in Septemebr 2005 and have been paying £100 per month for the supply of electric to my property. I have no gas. However i travel with work 3 days per week so only reside for 4 days. I have 2 electric heaters for winter useage.

I have refused to pay my recent electric bill (£488!!) which is riddiculous since i have been paying £100 per month. BG are saying they have never receievd a meter reading from me, which is totally untrue. A recent meter reading taken in August showed my account to be in the red by almost £500!! I just don't understand and they are not being helpful. I have alwyas commented to the meter readers who have visited there is something wrong with my meter.

I have to take a 'burn' test to check whether the meter is faulty. then BG will provide an acuracy test at a £40 charge to me..

Can you please help. What do i have to supply in order for someone to comment on my useage. my last conversation with BG confimed it was almost impossible to use this amount of electric however they are still saying i need to pay up!

apparently i used 7000KW from April 08 to July 08

Aparently i have consumed 23,600 KW of energy since 2005. is this possible?? I was told it should be around 16,000 KW??

    please help,

    many thanks
